Day 8

Another sunny day dawned in Sante Fe. We found a lovely cafe yesterday where I could have cornflakes and a banana so headed off there again today. I cannot cope with all this Mexican stuff they have for breakfast - burritos,, and everything covered in cheese!

We set off for Albuquerque after a stop at a huge craft store and coming out with a bag full of goodies., We stopped on the way in Madrid. Madrid is a very strange little town whose residents are mainly artists. We were there is 2011 and I fancied going back. It has not changed a lot but has spread a bit. I found a picture I had on my iPad for a long set of mail boxes and tried to find them again. We did find them but they have all changed but one. We stopped for an ice cream float in a cafe where we had been before, and then moved on. Once again fantastic landscapes although the snow has nearly gone and it is getting hotter by the hour.

We arrived in Albuquerque in late afternoon. Staying in a Holiday Inn has its advantages - like a guest laundry. So we are sitting here waiting for our laundry to finish. Having eaten in a nice Italian restaurant this evening we are happy bunnies and quite relaxed. We have managed to keep to our promise of just breakfast and then an evening meal. I don’t know if it will last.
